Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

In Matthew 5:3, Jesus proclaims, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” ¹

The primary purpose of the Beatitudes delivered by Jesus on the hillside of Mt. Olive is to proclaim true happiness, blessedness, and the values of the Kingdom of God under His kingship.² "The unfolding of"³ Matthew 5:3-12 would "give light; they impart understanding to the simple mind"³ about the Kingdom of truth and righteousness.

"Blessed" points to the unlimited divine resources.

"Poor in spirit" means being given the spiritual eyes to see the divine goodness endowed upon us—the true branches of the True Vine. This includes all divine goodness, just as the earth is endowed with complete protective coverings ranging from magnetic fields to seven atmospheric layers. Our spiritual bodies are fragile or vulnerable. Seeing this divine goodness covering our poor human spirit in His consuming presence is having the "Spirit of Understanding" to perceive the true meaning of Matthew 5:3.

Thus, ‘blessedness’ does not originate from human striving, but purely from ‘seeing’ all the goodness of the Divine Spirit (the divine resources and operations of the Sevenfold Spirit of God).

Consequently, those whom the Lord endows with being "poor in spirit" will always thank God for His great mercy and goodness, recognizing the divine spiritual cloak that covers their spirits. Those given this beatitude will always say, "Apart from You (Christ), I am nothing." This does not refer to the nothingness of our intellectual capacities, but rather to our spiritual consciousness perceiving the nothingness of our human spirit in the presence of His consuming majesty. Ultimately, to be "poor in spirit" is to see the complete poverty of our human spirit before God, the righteous Judge.

All prophecies serve as signs that point to the fulfillment of divine revelation. Thus, reading these signs means knowing our position on the ‘ticking clock’ of time, as revealed by His Word. Because a signpost is inseparable from the content of the prophecy itself, it edifies, comforts, and counsels us as we tread into an uncharted future. These signs are inseparable from the Word of the Lord; they serve as a lamp unto our feet as we step into the unknown. They usher us into the revealed, new name of God, even as the skies proclaim His glory. This divine name points directly to His handiwork.

Evaluating secular success through the lens of the Word is a flawed approach. I am inspired to ponder how the Lord strips away the flesh, much like He did with Job, so that we may see the true essence of eternity. As the fallen descendants of Adam, our consciousness is typically centered on intellectual capacity and physical senses. Therefore, this stripping away shifts our consciousness beyond the flesh, allowing us to echo the words of Job: "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees You" (Job 42:5).

27 What I tell you in the 'darkness', speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. (Matthew 10: 27).

Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of his servant, who walks in 'darkness' and has no light, yet trusts in the name of the Lord and relies upon his God? (Isaiah 50:10)
